DOM La cupola del Pilastro and Laminarie
won the UBU Prize 2012 as “special project”

 

 


 

with the following motivation:
Dom by Laminarie, a space working on the boundaries between production in residency and hospitality, between city and countryside, between migration and memory, between childhood and adulthood, between theatrical research and listening to the nearby Pilastro neighborhood in Bologna.

 

UBU prizes are the most important reward for italian theatre, created by critic and editor Franco Quadri thirty-five years ago. UBU 2012 have been curated for the first time by “UBU for Franco Quadri” association, whose goal is to continue the important work of the great critic after his death. UBU prizes were presented on 10th december 2012 at Piccolo Teatro in Milan with the crowded participation of artists, critics, and theatre fans. UBU prizes jury's is composed by 54 critics and they cover all theatre category: directions, acting, dramaturgy, scenography and several “special prizes” for those practices that don't fit a particular category but truly deserve a reward.
